Individual differences, cultural diversity, curiosity, passion and creativity are all combined in schooling to produce students with employable skills.
In schools in the past didnt care about students backgrounds etc, they simply wanted them to learn simple skills so they could get a suitable job.
Creative people are not effective - a long time society did not need creative people, we use to suppress them. In an assembly line, no one wants people to be different we want all people to have the same skills.
The curriculum suppresses creative people, and makes them conform to a certain way. SUPPRESS CREATIVITY.
We try to suppress creativity in the classroom. As people get older, we ask fewer questions and we lose our creativity, questions and laughter.
Technology has replaced jobs which have 'rote' in them. Such as bankers - online banking. In the future, these jobs wont exsist. So the skills that we are teaching our kids may not be relevant to them in the future - why teach for a job that won't exsist?
Black coloured workers - creative people and entreprenuers. This is the type of worker is what our children will be in the future.
How useless people become useful - eg. Kim Kardashian. What is she popular for? Nothing
Age of necessity to age of abundance: -eg. Australian companies spend so much money on selling their food - advertisements etc. Then you have gyms that want you to lose weight and excercise.
EMPLOYEES ---------------------> ENTREPRENEURS
We want students to have the skills to make their own jobs and create jobs. The need to have:
-They need friends in all sectors
-confidence and arrognace to believe in their ideas
-passion
-open to opportunity
-unforgivingness
-empathy
-globalbal
The education system and new ideas which are introduced need to come with warning labels. That this program may get you the best results but will lead you to hate reading.

It is a general stereotype for Asian people - That they are clever and smart. In results shown, based on Pesa testing, China is on top for both numeracy and literacy. Students from Asian countries are achieving great results. However China's ex education minister said they there was no Steve Jobs being born in China. This is becuause they are suppresed and expected to learn English and Maths rather than focus on their creative side.
According to results
Americans and Australians scored very high in confidence but low scores.
Asian countries scored high marks in results in English and Maths however had no confidence.
When we encourage students to get good test scores we are encoruaging students to find the answers. We punish those students who do not do well on tests - we supress.
If you judge a fish its whole life on climbing a tree then it will spend its whole life thinking its stupid. Albert Einstein
We need to enhance students
Curriculum follows the child - based on his or her own talents
What: Students autonomy - how: product orienteering, -where: the global campus

Students self learning - can they become 21st century learners through teaching themselves? Website: The Independent Project
Project based Learning
In education if someone is not doing well in something we do more of it, However for gifted and talented kids we give them more 'fun' activities to do.
Pygmalion effect
Is the phenemenon in which the greater the expectation placed upon the people the better they perform. The opposite is called the Golem effect., in which low expectations lead to decrease in performance. eg. when we have remedial kids we just presume they wont do very well, and we wont spend more time with them etc.
Students - you havent done well in the classroom so far but you are young and you will do better later.
