Grouping
Groups of children can learn anything by themselves....
Provided they can
- read
- search
- (once they've read) have the ability to put it together.
Let students explore units for the first 45 minutes.... many have stated 70% of your unit has already been taught. It will give you more opportunity to explore other parts of your unit.

Transmedia storytelling
Aim: Rethinking Literacy through Transmedia Storytelling
Dr Henry Jenkins describes transmedia storytelling as representing “a process where integral elements of a fiction get dispersed systematically across multiple delivery channels for the purpose of creating a unified and coordinated entertainment experience. Ideally each medium makes its own unique contribution to the unfolding of the story.”
At one end of the spectrum, transmedia storytelling usually consists of the creation of multiple pieces of media such as videos, games, graphic novels or podcasts to tell stories that are interwoven. Each piece can be consumed on its own but together they form a bigger story. At the other end of the spectrum, transmedia storytelling is more interactive and much more web-centric. These stories may make use of social media and have a plot so tightly woven between media that readers have to actively seek out the multiple pieces of the story.
